Ruth Murdoch 7-8th Grade Volunteers

Students from Mr. Giddings classroom of 7th and 8th graders from Ruth Murdoch Elementary School come twice a week to the center and volunteer for 45 minutes each time.
Two of the young men help to carry the large bags of presorted clothing that will go to the local Goodwill store.
What muscles!
Filling up the trailer with nearly a dozen bags of clothing.
Two young men set to work tagging the clothing that will be hung in the store.
Tagging clothes.
The ladies of the group set to working straightening the clothing racks.
Their attention to detail and arranging all the hangers to hang in the same direction, makes for a neat appearance.
Time goes by quickly for these young enthusiastic volunteers. Thanks for your faithful help each week.
The last job tackled is to collapse the many excess cardboard boxes that will be taken for recycling.

Volunteer Activity

Sometimes we just have to stop and take time to straighten out our working place. Clothing and household items come in so quickly at times we really get snowed under and it is wonderful when we can get ourselves dug out a bit and ready for the next wave of surprises.
Assistant store manager, Audrey works on straightening the clothes racks and extra hangers.
Clothing sorter, Judy, takes time to model one of the bridal head pieces that came into the store recently.
Connie spent a large portion of her day today organizing the processing area for her department. Boxes were labeled in hopes that it will help everyone find the right home for the various items that will need to go on to other departments.

Busy Day at the Store

Tuesdays and Thursdays have really been busy lately. The sign is hardly in the ground and there is a parking lot full of customers.
Two registers are opened to accommodate the line of customers.
Aisles are crowded but that doesn't stop the search for a special treasure.
Pearl and Rebbecca are kept busy at the cash registers.
The store manager even has to step in at times to help process the line of thrift store shoppers.

Andrews Academy Volunteers

Today was community service day for the students at Andrews Academy. Four young ladies worked for nearly four hours sorting yarn and yardage in the multi-purpose room under the direction of Maxine.
The yardage is carefully measured and folded and marked for sale in the thrift store.
Yarn is rolled up if need be and it is also sorted by colors and bagged.
The four beautiful volunteers. Thanks girls for your hard work, you did a wonderful job and it is much appreciated.

Quarterly Birthday Potluck

Although our quarterly birthday potluck was smaller than usual this time, we still had a good time. We were celebrating the volunteers whose birthdays are in July, August and September.
Laura dishes up some tasty garlic bread.

Ministry Fair at HPAC

The annual Ministry Fair for the students of Andrews University was held tonight in the lobby of the Howard Performing Arts Center. This was the booth N2N had set up.
Laura and Lucy await the crowds of students that will tour the lobby and the various ministry opportunities that are available.
A potential volunteer signs up for more information.
Laura talks to interested students about what N2N does and what the volunteer opportunities are.
Lucy explains the center to an interested young lady.
Are these some potential volunteers? We sure hope so!
